Witchy Woman

A new round of Genre started up and this round is full of the Dark Arts. Now I would normally claim to be a good witch, because if we learned anything from The Wizard of Oz it's that bad witches are ugly. However I am not ugly nor am I good...today. I happen to be a fan of American Horror Story so when I saw that this outfit from The Annex was named Coven, well I just had to have it. If you watched the show you know that when the girls went out they dressed in black and quite often wore hats. I am shielding my face because you never know who may be looking...or plotting against you.

This fog should provide just the right amount of cover for me to disappear into the night.

Playing at Punk

I am not a very punk girl, but I can play one in SL. I know very little of punk music if we are being completely honest, but that is the category at Rhapsody that my tied shirt and poses come from.

The pose set is named Joan, and if the names of the individual poses are any clue then I can saying guess they were named after Joan Jett songs. I know these songs very well because when I was little my sister used to play her record all the time. I used to sing along to "I love Rock n Roll" all the time. I was little and it was cute, or at least that is what I am told.

Where is my chauffeur?

Where is the chauffeur when you need him? I must get away from this stifling mansion immediately!
I know I shouldn't complain about this privileged life I lead, but do you have any idea what it's like having to be all prim and proper all the time? It is positively ghastly. The Lords and Ladies that come to visit are bores and their children are just as boring as they are. Is it a wonder the royals likes to get out and mingle with the common folk. At least they know how to have a good time. If any of the television programs I have seen are anything like the real deal then I am completely missing out living this sheltered life.

I suppose I could just walk, but it is miles just to the entrance of the estate and my shoes were certainly not made for walking at all. I will give the chauffeur five more minutes tops before I have him sacked. Oh don't go judging me, he has a job to do and if he can't do it then I will just find someone who will!

Backyard Beauty

She Sits Alone

She sits alone in her chair
fingers twirling around her hair.

My New Furry Friend

Every days it's the same thing. He goes off to work and I am left all alone. I mean sure I get things done while he is gone, but it gets lonely, especially when he works late or goes on trips.

I mean we have a cat, but she is so independent and well just downright mean that I decided we needed a new member of the family. A furry member of course, so off I went. I have to say when I saw him it was love at first sight and I knew exactly what to name him.

Meet Topper! He is named after an old black and white movie with Cary Grant, one of my favorites actually. In fact we watched it just the other night. I don't have to worry about Topper going to work. In fact as long as I walk him and feed him and scratch him behind his floppy ears he sticks to my side.

Flying a Kite

It's pretty funny, just a couple of weeks ago I was watching Mary Poppins with a certain someone special and when it was over I said something along the lines of "We should go fly a kite!". It sort of fell to the wayside until this weekend...

As you can see I got my wish to go fly a kite. He even let my climb on his back to try and see how high we could get the kite to go. We had to find a place away from the trees to fly the kite though because I didn't want it getting caught in a tree. I have a bad track record when it comes to kites and trees.

Luckily I was able to keep a tight hold on both the man and the kite and they both returned home in one piece, though one may have some sore muscles from holding me up.

Pretty Nude

My Quiet Corner

There is one thing that all the houses I have ever had in SL have in common and that is they all have a quiet corner with cozy seating and a bookshelf of some sort.

It is one of those things that I find very comforting to have in my house, like a little retreat. I usually am sitting there when I am going through notecards or am typing up a blog post.
The cute shelf is new from Atooly and was out on Sunday for Lazy Sunday, which is just how I like my Sundays...lazy. I of course added my own pictures to the frames. Be My Valentine

There once was a boy who was very fond of a girl . He thought since it was Valentine's Day this week he would make his move. He brought her a box of delicious chocolates which she shyly accepted.

This broke the ice and he was able to make his move and asked her out. The date wen wonderfully and as young lovers do they found a spot to make out and make out they did!

The next morning the girl struggled to cover the love bite that he left her as a souviner of their night together. Maybe she can just move her hair to cover it up.

My Unwilling Valentine

We have all heard that saying " If you love someone, set them free, if they come back they're yours" of some other iteration of this saying. Well I say if you love some one then tie them up in the basement and keep them safe for all time. It may be a one sided love after a while but that is what the ropes are for.
I mean if we ignore the death stare that I am receiving it's really not a bad deal.Now before you go thinking I am completely insane let me just say I would never actually do this, as that would be kidnapping and false imprisonment and that is against the law. I don't look good in orange prison jumpsuits or prison jumpsuit of any color. So for the sake of my criminal record I let him go shortly after taking these pictures. Hey if he comes back that means he is mine to tie up again right? Though maybe we could keep this whole tying up thing a secret between us this time.

Platforms and Piercings

The title of the post says it all huh? The platform sneakers have been my footwear of choice lately. I think it is because of the HUD that makes them so customizable. You see I am wearing the floral shoes, but I used the glitter HUD to make the tongue yellow glitter because well it's me. For that same reason my piercing has stars. It's mod, and I did just that so it's not the way it "should" look. I asked Lola though and she said it looked fine so I went with it. can you tell I am new to this whole thing. One of these days I may catch on, or I may just give up and leave it to the professionals. I am going to just go straight to the credits.

Pallets Are Cool

As I was wandering the other day I came upon a pile of pallets and since pallets are so cool and hip I stood on them for pictures. It's just the way my brain works it seems. I also tried to pull all the colors from the sweater into the rest of the look right down to the smaller details, like the necklace.
Even my glasses were keeping with the color scheme, though tortoise shell and leopard print aren't exactly the same thing huh? Oh well it's the thought that counts. Now onto the credits!

I missed my calling

I always wanted to be a figure skater and I had dreams of Olympic Gold. However the North Pole doesn't get represented in the games. You see the big man thinks that 1. It would give away the secrets of Christmas if we competed 2. We would have an unfair advantage, something about inherent grace. Oh well I can still dream right?
I do adore getting out on the ice and swirling and twirling around like a ballerina, only on the ice.
Maybe you would like to try your luck on the ice. It is really great fun and then there is always hot chocolate afterwards!

Orange for Unity Day

So today I am going to get deeper and more personal than I normally do. Today happens to be Unity Day, to unite to stop bullying. October isn't just Breast Cancer Awareness month, it is also National Bullying Prevention Month. Instead of wearing pink though the color for Bullying Prevention is orange.
I was teased when I was a kid and it sucked, however it doesn't come close to what kids go through now a days, and at a younger age too. Last year my son was bullied to the point where he was threatening suicide, he was only 9 at the time. Now I know that he would never hurt himself, but it is scary as a parent hearing that from your child. He is different than other kids his age and it's not his fault, but they just saw him as being different and bullied him till he couldn't take it anymore. We pulled him from that school and did all we could to move to a better school system and so far things have been a million times better.
If you see someone being bullied, speak up! You never know, you could be saving a life.

Cinderelly and Gus

Cinderella may have been a busy worker, but then I got to her and she caught my lazies. I mean I can't tell you the last time I was on my hands and knees scrubbing a floor. Then again I don't think I have ever made clothes for mice or went to a ball. Still I don't think I would trade lives with her, besides I already have my prince. Yup I said it and yup I am that cheesey.
I think my Gus is a little cuter than the one Cinderella hung out with. I also don't have to worry about this Gus getting chased by Lucifer (so didn't understand the name of the cat till I was older). It's a bird

No it's a plane! Actually it's a chick dressed as an elephant who can fly. Yup that's right I am channeling Dumbo for week seventeen of Disney bound.
My Dumbo looks like she is ready for some erm, recreational activities of the plant based kind. Yeah I was trying to be subtle.
I tried to tint the hat as close to yellow as I could to mimic Dumbo's. You know I don't think I have actually watched Dumbo in forever. I do remember squeezing into one of the Dumbos at the Dumbo ride in Disney World with my mom and daughter. Yeah it was a tight squeeze, but it was 3 generations of females making a memory, so it was worth it.

Ghost White Art

Here is is Humpday and another color to be seen. If you couldn't guess from the title the color is ghost white. I don't think I look at all ghostly, but I am wearing white.

Of course you can't really see all my white, since I am trying to become one with the art. I don't think I am doing such a great job though. Maybe I should work on my camouflage skills.
