Blowing Bubbles

So yesterday I talked about siblings and I showed a picture of my man with his sister. Well today it's just her and I.

I think I hit the jackpot in the in law department. My sister in law Stardust and I have similar tastes. You see when I got the idea for this picture I knew I wanted us in matching dresses. However the hair, that was not at all planned. When she showed up at the house ready for a photo shoot she had on the same hair as me!

My poor hubby was a little unsettled by the twin-ness of his wife and sister, but we are still different enough.

Siblings

There are the kinds of siblings that you are born with and then there are the ones you choose. The ones you choose are sometimes the ones that know you better than the other. When I saw this pose I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. You see in my head the caption for this photo has always been "Siblings have your back". Sure it's super punny, but you should come to expect that from me now. I am lucky enough to call these two family now you know since I married one of them. I am sure you can figure out which if you read this blog often enough. Well I should stop talking before the flu meds kick in and I start sounding like a prattling fool.

More Fun with Livvie

Last week I wrote about our weekend watching our niece Livvie, well today is the follow up to with a little more of what happened that weekend. Since Livvie was going to be sleeping at our house for the weekend we got the room closest to us all set up for her. Being the doting Aunt and Uncle we are we made sure it was filled with toys to keep her busy. I asked her Uncle to keep an eye on her while I ran downstairs to grab the laundry. This may have been a mistake.

Maybe it's my fault for not watching where I was going or maybe someone should have made sure the blocks didn't make it outside the bedroom and onto the landing. At least Livvie looked somewhat upset about my near disaster.
During the weekend we did a lot of fun things like have a princess tea party, but someone refused to let me take pictures of him in a tiara. Oh well, maybe I can sneak one next time. We did however get a really cute shot of the three of us outside by the big tree in the yard.

Hopefully Livvie will come and visit us again, only maybe this time I will put the blocks on the ground floor.

Vicars and Tarts

I was invited to a Vicars and Tarts party so I decided to channel my inner Bridget Jones, though hopefully with less embarrassment. I decided though that bunnies were over rated and wondered that the biggest diva would look like tarted up in a corset. Which diva you ask? Why Miss Piggy of course. I got myself all dressed up, but was a little trepidacious of stepping out of the dressing room.
It took me a few minutes to get my confidence up, but then I had to check myself from all angles. I mean no one wants things drooping or jiggling out of place.

With everything all in place I think I am ready to head out.

My New Furry Friend

Every days it's the same thing. He goes off to work and I am left all alone. I mean sure I get things done while he is gone, but it gets lonely, especially when he works late or goes on trips.

I mean we have a cat, but she is so independent and well just downright mean that I decided we needed a new member of the family. A furry member of course, so off I went. I have to say when I saw him it was love at first sight and I knew exactly what to name him.

Meet Topper! He is named after an old black and white movie with Cary Grant, one of my favorites actually. In fact we watched it just the other night. I don't have to worry about Topper going to work. In fact as long as I walk him and feed him and scratch him behind his floppy ears he sticks to my side.

Babysitting

Sometimes an Aunt and Uncle are tasked with babysitting for a weekend. This weekend was one of those weekends, and our niece Livvie was dropped off by her parents on Friday for us to watch. I had plans for a girls night out so Livvie was hanging out with my while I got ready.


I had to dash out the door to meet the girls for drinks right after Mikka go home from work, to say he was a little awkward and unsure of what to do with Livvie would be an understatement.

He tried to put on her favorite show, but she wasn't interested. He tried toys and games, but she was having none of that. Finally he found something they could both enjoy. He pulled out one of the simple puzzles and they were happy campers.

The weekend went by in a flash with just a few hiccups here and there, but I will save those for another post.

Beach Day!

When I am excited I can act like a little kid, especially when I am looking forward to going somewhere. I am not above getting dressed and then pouncing to wake people up.

What can I say it was beach day and I wanted to get going.Once I got him awake and to the beach we had a great day. We had a little picnic, splashed in the water, you know all the fun beach activities. The icing on the cake of a great day was watching the sun set together.
A perfect ending to a perfect day.

Bunny Time

Here comes Phire Cottontail hopping down the bunny trail blah blah blah.

Happy Easter if you celebrate or Happy Sunday if you don't. I figured since it is Easter I would don these cute new ears and skip about on the beach. I mean sure bunnies live in the woods, but even they need a vacation too right?
