The Poetry Muses

I like to thinks that there are muses for all sorts of things, like poetry. I also like to think they are specialized and need to recharge their musing powers. For today I have selected three of the poetry muses. First we will look at the one who inspires poems about the woods and tress and such.

When this muse needs to recharge she seeks refuge in the forest surrounded but all the trees. She communes with the trees and after a while she feels rested and rejuvenated enough to go out and inspire sylvan poems.
The next muse is like a sister to the Muse of Sylvan Poetry, she is the Muse of Flowers.

I am sure that it comes as no surprise that she finds flowers to have a restorative quality. She wanders fields of breathing in deeply the fragrance of the flowers growing there. When she is ready she goes off to inpire poets to write about the beauty of flowers in many ways. The last muse I was able to come across is the Night Muse, she inspires all those poems about the night, the moon and the stars. Some of my favorite things.

This muse rarely needs to seek out a special place to recharge as the night comes well nightly.She gazes upon the moon and stars in the dark sky. She finds that she feels the most power radiating from a full moon on a cloudless night. By day she is out there helping poets write about that time that she holds so dear. There was one other poetry muse out there, but she was very elusive and I never was able to track her down. She is the Muse of Hearts, she inspires all those heartfelt poems that lovers, or ex-lovers write. Maybe she has her own lover that she draws upon. If that is the case then maybe that is why I never saw her?

Forget tennis, lets get coffee

When I saw these outfits at The Chapter Four it made me think of cute little tennis outfit...till I put on the shoes. Playing tennis in wedges is just a recipe fro disaster, especially for someone as accident prone as me. So I called up my girl and we changed plans last minute. Coffee and gossiping is way more fun than actual exercise, and flapping your jaw is a work out if you have a lot to say. It was a lovely sunny day so we enjoyed our coffees outside.

Violetta's Adventure

Earlier I introduced you to Violetta and as I alluded her story wasn't over. You see she was scooped up by that tornado and brought to a whole new world. Well it was new to her and she was scared stiff. So stiff that someone mistook her for wall art and sold her! Suddenly she was hanging up in some strange little creatures living quarters.

After a bit of a struggle Violetta was able to free herself from the wall and decided to explore the strange place that she ended up. The thing the little creature slept on was very soft and it seemed to make her happy. She then found this table with all sorts of things that made marks, she she drew pictures that reminded her of her own home.

The pictures that she drew made Violetta extremely homesick and she longed to get back home. The new land was interesting for a time, but Violetta had no desire to stay. She walked over to where the small creature slept and whispered goodbye.

Violetta wasn't certain that the little sleeping creature heard her, but she didn't waste any time waiting to find out. Violetta snuck out the window and caught a breeze, hoping that it would take her home since the tornado brought her there to begin with. She did eventually land at home, but she floated over many different and to her exotic lands. Some were hot, some were colorful, other were wet, but the one that got her attention the most was the one that was frozen over.

A little retro

This weekend I cleaned up my inventory a little. It's wasn't a big purge, more like putting things where they belong. I admit I may have gone on a shopping bender or two recently. And well as you do when you are sorting things I put on these jeans. They had a retro feel to them and I knew exactly what top to rock with them. Well since I had a retro chic thing going on I added the glasses and well it rolled from there.

I can't lie, these jeans make my booty look, well bootylicious.

Into a sea of yellow

I was sorely tempted to make some comment about being all about that bass, cause you know it's like a booty shot, but I thought I would pretend to be better than that. It seems that even when I am not wearing yellow I still find a way to include it. I knew I wanted to take pictures around flowers because the skirt reminds me of a flower.

'Dillo Love

When one is wearing an armadillo covered skirt the best place for pictures is the desert don't you agree? Well it made sense in my head anyway. If you have never noticed I have a thing for wearing black and white with a pop of color here and there and this look is no exception. There is just something fun about a black and white look with red shoes. It's like a pleasant surprise when you get to my toes.

My lips wanted to get in on the pop of red action today too, so I let them.

Baking is calming

There is something so satisfying about baking for me. I love to bake all sorts of sweet things, but I never really eat them. When I was out exploring with the husband last night we came upon this house. When we walked inside I knew I had to take a picture there and I knew I wanted to wear this dress from Lassitude & Ennui from Fantasy Faire. It just seemed to perfect. Of course I couldn't let the post go by without a shot of the hair I chose to go with it.

Ember Phire

I find myself giggling at the name of this new skin from Miasnow when I am wearing it. Think about it for a second and you will get it. I know I am late to the new skin game, but better late than never right. You how there are some skins where everyone you have seen looks great in it? Yeah this is one of those I think. Paperdolls - Day one

I know not a very creative title. Here is the premise for this series of posts, for a while on plurk Aevalah would post a paperdoll link and a bunch of us would make one and share them. I thought it would be fun to try and mirror those looks in SL, with a little creative license because some things are harder to find than others.
This is the first one I attempted. As you can see I tried to keep the basics the same, but changed up the socks and things like that. For the record all the peperdolls this week are going to be of the non-fantasy type, because those are so much harder.
Oh and I tried to pick things with various colors so you won't be seeing a weeks worth of yellow.

Laughter No More

While preparing for my Horrorfest blogging I can across this piece of writing. I am not sure if it is the ramblings of a crazy person, or if something like this truly happened in the unnamed town. Maybe you will have an opinion.

It was the day of the dance and she spent a fair bit of time getting ready. It wasn't easy to get her hair into an updo like that, and her pale dress and milky skin provided just the right canvas for the vintage necklace she picked up earlier that week. There was just something about it that drew her to it. All dressed and ready she headed off to the dance hall, her head swimming with possibilities. When she arrived there though she saw no one dressed as she has been, no fancy dresses in sight, in fact almost everyone was in jeans, or so I am told. You see there wasn't much left of the dance hall after she got done with it. Mysteriously all the photos of the aftermath have disappeared, but I was able to recover two photos of the girl that I will share with you, my loyal readers.
It is said that she went on a murderous rampage with a chainsaw she found in the storage shed on the grounds of the dance hall. It is also speculated that she buried some of the bodies out back, but the skeletal remains seen in this photo makes me wonder.
She slammed the used and bloodied chainsaw into the wood of one of the open graves and walked off never to be seen again. The dance hall was set ablaze, burning to the ground before the fire fighters could even get onto their trucks. There was something unholy about the speed of that fire. The only thing that they were able to find giving any indication that she has ever been there was her necklace. That necklace now sits in an evidence locker at the police station. The town have never seen anything like this happen since. It is my theory that there is something about that necklace, but no one wants to listen to me. They think I am just that strange lady who claims to talk to ghosts. One day I will prove them wrong...

Zombie Bedtime

After a long day of chasing down humans even the toughest of zombies needs some down time. Since humans snuggle with baby dolls why wouldn't a zombie snuggle with a zombie doll? Sometimes that zombie doll talks smack though. Zombie dolls can be a real pain in the ass.
If his brains weren't made of stuffing I would eat them when he got to be a pain, but fiber is not part of my diet.

Barefoot in the flowers

I like to run around SL barefoot. I can't help myself, it's not like I am going to step in poo in SL. Well I mean I could but I would feel it or smell it so it's almost like it doesn't happen. In my first life I almost always wear shoes, Legos and Barbie shoes are like little land mines.
In the summer I love the feel of grass under my feet and in SL I can have that feeling year round!I thought the hair and dress needed a little summery bohemian feel.
And since owls are cool and stuff I am wearing an owl necklace that I picked during one of my many wanderings of the grid with Lola.

Shy At First

Who knew that your picture could be snapped just wandering down the street? I mean sure I walk with confidence usually, but this caught me so of guard I felt a little camera shy. However after a few dozen pictures I totally got into it.
I mean with a bare back and some serious side boob I will be insane not to want to show it off. Even though it isn't Tuesday there is a little booty there for you to make your Monday a little brighter. Yeah I think that much of my own backside.

The Last Gasp of Summer

Summer is sadly coming to an end soon, although for my kids it has been over for a few weeks now. I thought I would get one last hit of summer in before embracing the sweaters and pants the cooler weather brings.
And because it is Tuesday, I have a shot of my booty. Lola started this a while ago and it has been a long time since I have had a bum shot in my Tuesday posts. And that is a 100% natural Phire booty, no ass implants here. I was going to say no mesh, but that would be a lie since my bathing suit bottom is mesh.

In Dreams...

... I can pull off a short hair cut.
I know it seems like something silly to dream of, but sometimes when I see someone with a cute pixie cut or something similar I wish I could pull it off. Sadly I know how RL me looks with short hair and it is not pretty.
This short hair however looks fantastic on me. I feel quite posh with the short hair, and I don't mean in a Spice Girls kind of way either. Maybe it the shades giving me that feeling? I think I need more coffee so I am going to go make some while you check out the credits.

I dream...

...of romantic lunches in little lakeside cafes on sunny summer days.
Lunches that don't include the need for kids menus.
Where the views are breathtaking and the air is crisp and clean and a soft breeze rustles through the leaves.

Random Phire RL factoid: This dream was a reality once upon a time almost 11 years ago on a vacation to New Hampshire. That was when my soon to be hubby and I decided we didn't want to wait another year to get married and five weeks later we tied the knot. That vacation turned into our honeymoon. One of these days we will go back, without children.

You would think that dressing up two ladies would be easy for me, but for some reason I had a hard time with these two. If you didn't know this is Anastasia and Drizella, the wicked step-sisters from Cinderella. Here is a random RL factoid. When we were at Disney World in December we had our picture taken with Cinderella, the prince, Drizella, Anastasia and their mother. Anastasia told my little man that he was a prince because he was being polite. SO maybe they aren't so wicked afterall? Oh and I totally was arm in arm with the prince...Cinderella had to share for the moment. I am going to relive that moment while you check out the credits.

Mr Smee is Me!

That's right today I am dressed and Captain Hook's faithful companion. I am still a little behind on the Disney Bounding posts, but I am catching up. I of course took some liberties with Mr. Smee, you know given that he is a chubby man and I am neither of those. I did however find a nice ship to take my pictures on, that is something, right?
I had a lot of fun dressing as Mr. Smee and think I ended up looking pretty darn cute.

Wardrobe Basics - Jeans and a Tee

I think the title says it all, jeans and a tee, staples to just about everyone's inventory. I decided that the rest of this week I would style looks using some of the things everyone probably has (girls, sorry guys I will figure something out for you eventually).
