No Pumpkin Spice Lattes Here

      Fall is my absolute favorite season, it's when I can start wearing sweaters and cute boots. Well it used to be, now I refer to fall as "the dulling". You see I grew up in New England, but moved south where the trees only seem to turn a dull shade of green in the fall/winter. I have learned that you can take the girl out of New England, but you can't take the New England out of the girl. In my non-digital life there are scented candles that smell like an apple orchard, apple cinnamon and crisp fall leaves with a hint of dried hay. That last one I think my brain might just be adding because it fits with memories. Or I am losing it which is possible too. Now that I have blabbered on I will show off my pictures that brought this train of thought to you.

      There are a lot of coffee shops in the state I grew up in that are in converted houses. That means there are rooms all over that are usually decorated seasonally and there is at least one fireplace. Sometimes they are working, others are just there for decoration now. 

      Another thing about these little mom & pop coffee shops is that they don't write your name on the cup so there is never a worry about them butchering your name. Yeah I am looking at you Starbucks!

Spring Swing

I can't think of anything brilliant to write to go with my pictures today. I think I have writers block. It's a terrible thing to have happen really. I will however say that when I took these pictures I was imagining some sort of Goddess having a little down time. I have always enjoyed stories of the Greek and Roman Gods and Goddesses. I had a Moon Goddess in my mind when I was getting dressed which is why I chose the blue and white parts of this collaboration from Faida and Fallen Gods Inc. It also paired really well with the necklace and earrings that are on sale at Maxi Gossamer this weekend.

Hide and Seek

One, two, three...you know how to count so I will stop. How long do you need so you can find a good hiding place? I think a good place to hide would be at Collabor88, since there you can pick up the hair, shoes and dress I am wearing. It's would be some pretty awesome multi-tasking.

I would look for you, but striking a pose seems like a much better way to spend my time. Or maybe tramping through the grass in heels doesn't appeal to me so come out, come out, where ever you are.

Always on the go

My hands always seem to be full when I am running errands. I mean I need my coffee, especially in the morning, and well my phone is a necessary evil. I always have my phone with me so that I can be reached by whoever, whenever, oh except at the dinner table. The dinner table is a no phone zone.
At least today is a nice day to run around getting things done. Of course happy spring colors make running about much more tolerable. I hope you day is full of sunshine, even if you are going here, there and everywhere. Oh and there are green dots in my skirt so no pinches for me today!

Tea Time

It's tea time! I have a confession to make. I collect teacups in SL. I know it seems a bit strange, but I do. I have a soft spot for teacups. So it's not surprising that when The Arcade rolls around and there are teacups to be had I seek them out.

There are times where I attempt to get all the pieces of a tea set.

I am also a sucker for tulips. Combine some tulips with a cute bunny and I am all over that cuteness!
And what is a tea party with out dressing up all prettily? I think I shall call these two Cinnamon and Sugar based on what we are wearing. Cinnamon obviously being the one in red, because it more cinnamony than that minty one.

Groomora*

I have a strange little mind. I mean I could have gone all mystical dryad with this skin, but no, that would be expected instead I introduce you to Groomora. Who is Groomora you may ask, why she is the love child of Groot and Gamora. Come on you know those Guardians of the Galaxy had to hook up in space. Sure the obvious match would have been Star Lord and Gamora, but with the greenish bark-like skin you could totally understand where my head was going.

Unlike Groot who only needed his pot once, Groomora needs to sleep in her pot to receive all the nutrients she needs. Sure it sucks, but hey she gets by. For the first part of her life she was raised in a special pod, in theory to keep her safe, but it was boring.

Could you imagine having nothing to do all day but look at flowers and climb trees, completely oblivious to the action your parents are seeing outside your safe little pod? No I don't mean the kind of action that made her! Poor girl. Hopefully one day she will get out there and be totally kick ass like her mom...and dad too.

I must be waiting on a cowboy, because there is no way I could do any work on a farm dressed like this. Maybe I could sell milk...wait that sounds pervy. You know what I mean though. I bet looking like this I could sell eggs to a chicken or some such thing.
When I put this dress on it gave me a country feel. Maybe it was the denim or the floral of the skit, or maybe it's just they way my head works. I made breakfast

It's not often that I am the first one awake or that I bake something for breakfast. I usually save all my baking for afternoons or evenings. Planning My Escape!

I am ready to run away from winter. However running away takes some planning. First I need a cup of coffee, and then plenty of books for research. Hey I am going old school here!

Maybe I will use a globe and a dart to pick where I go, though that could land me in the middle of some ocean...or worse somewhere colder and snowier!

Maybe I should search for something along the equator, as long as I pack plenty of sunscreen I should be safe and not sun burnt.

Rise and Fall

What is this?

I walked to the edge of the city and this is what I found. A strange stone something had sprouted up over night.

I checked it out from top to bottom and in the middle too. Maybe it was a new art installation? Whatever it was it was blocking the path so I tried to move it.

That sucker was going no where. So I did what any lazy loafer would do. I said forget about it and made myself comfortable. Maybe someone will come along and let me know exactly what it is, but till then I am content to chill out.

Mary Poppins I am not!

Mary Poppins was a lying little dear,or maybe it was because she the little darlings she watched were older, either way being a nanny is a thankless job.

I mean here I am taking care of this couple's most valuable thing and what am I doing, waiting for a bottle to warm while eyeing the pasteries. Oh but I can't have any because those are for company, like that actually eat it. They all take a slice and push it around their plates wasting the delicate treats. But that is not the point. Mary Poppins made being a nanny seem all fun and games. The only time I have fun is when I can get outside for a walk in the park.

Listen if you see a man named Bert who is a one man band, chimney sweep and sidewalk chalk artist could you send him my way? I don't mind if he has a doddering old uncle who laughs himself to the ceiling. I could just use a trip into a magical land where penguins serve me tea and I can sit down without someone needing their nappy changed.

Firefly Ballet

Hi my name is Phire and I am a gacha addict. When gachas and fantasy combine my imagination gets to run wild. That can be completely awesome or terrifying depending on who you are. This go round there are these beautiful pieces from aisling, which I paired with this rare skin from Fallen Gods Inc. Why yes that is pink you see me wearing. I am working on getting over my aversion to the color. This post was also slightly inspired by a recent viewing of Fantasia. It's just the way my brain works.

As you can see the pink worked really well with the skin so it was kind of a no brainer. There is still about two weeks left to get to Fantasy Gacha Carnival so if you haven't made the trip I suggest you have at it.

Girl with the Red Rose

I thought I would title it like a classic painting, or a popular novel depending on how you read it. I admit I am desperate for some warm sunny weather and have been trying to get all the virtual sunshine I can. I hit up some gardens last week and may have made off with a rose...shh don't tell anyone. I bought this cute dress at The Chapter Four and it has that perfect spring feel to it, short enough to feel the warm air on your legs, but with long sleeves to keep a bit of the chill out. Though really if you tossed on some leggings you would be set for the winter too. I am babbling so I will leave you with the credits.

In a Wasteland

When living in a wasteland like this is is best to try and blend in. It may also be a good idea to forgo heels and jewelry too, but a girl need accessories even in dark times. I figured with the desert-like living earth tones would be my best bet. I think I may need to work on my camoflage techniques.

Looks like it is going to rain. It's a good thing I have an umbrella that matches my coat. I would hate to get drenched walking to dinner. I mean when you take all that time to do your hair and make sure you are looking like a dream it would be awful to let the rain ruin it.

Luckily I made it here in one dry piece. Maybe next time I will check the weather before dressing, my poor toes are frozen. Nothing a nice hot drink won't fix though.

Less Than Fifty Shades of Phire

I have been holding out on posting this one because I wanted it to do it the day the movie came out. I admit I know nothing about the books or the movie since I have neither read nor seen either.

This huge gorgeous couch is from ~Libertine~ and it seats, well a lot of people. It's broken up into five different areas and there are a bunch of options in each one. Cinderella's Slippers

Did you ever covet a pair of your moms shoes as a child? I know I did. My mom had they great boots that I wanted to wear so badly. They were high heeled black knee length suede boots with embroidered flowers on them. To my youthful eyes they were a work of art. If course I wasn't allowed to wear them because they had high heels. As fate would have it by the time I was old enough to ear them my feet were too big! This got me thinking. Cinderella and the Prince had to have kids right? Would they have a daughter and would she try to "borrow" her mom's famous shoes?

Of course she would! She would carefully sneak out of the castle and head out to meet up with her royal besties. Who's jaw wouldn't drop seeing somewhere wearing THE glass slippers?

Hopefully she won't be in a rush and misplace one like her mother.

Pinks and Whites

Holy cats I am wearing pink! I know it's a shocker but sometimes I just give in, especially when it is adorable. How adorable is this dress? It seems so perfect for a chilly winter day, like today.

This dress comes with a HUD that allows you to change the color of the turtleneck. I have to admit I am loving this trend of having HUDs that let you change certain elements of an outfit. Hmm I also realized that it almost looks like I have no eyes in that last picture. I swear I have eyes.
