Making Room For Something New

      It's time for THE PURGE! I don't mean the movies (which I have never seen), but an inventory one. It's time to make room for all the new things in life and let some of the old go. Yes that is totally a metaphor for life. It seems 2020 is the year of deep thoughts for me. Fret not, for I am sure it won't last long. In fact I know it won't! 

      I have been on a big cleaning and sorting and organizing binge lately. Clearing away the old and the clutter helps me think clearer in both worlds. Of course cleaning up my SL inventory is way easier, I can box things up and not have to worry about where to store it, there is no hauling stuff to the trash bins, or donation centers. Just a few clicks of a button and poof all sorted. Oh well at the end of the day life moves on and we should be willing to as well. Enough of my waxing philosophical I will see you again soon, with something a little less deep.

Music Mondays - Let It Snow

      Last week I missed out on my Music Monday post because of my non-digital life, but I am back this week and I think I will have one next week and that will be it for this little adventure. This week I chose Let it Snow for the song because it seems fitting. This weekend the weather outside was frightful, but it was rain and not snow.


      It's just out of frame, but he did bring some corn for popping, and the fire was oh so delightful. Of course when you are all curled up and cozy but the fire no one wants to say goodbye even as the fire slowly burns itself down to embers. And I better stop there before this is no longer rated G. I hope you are enjoying being cozy, even if that means being wrapped in a blanket with a good book and cup of tea!

Music Mondays - My Favorite Things

      This is another song I have wanted to do for a while, but always found it so overwhelming and didn't know where to begin. Well I buckled down and got it done, to the best of my abilities at least. I did have to give up and the whole doorbell and schnitzel with noodles lines, because I just couldn't find what I was looking for.

      I had to get a little creative for some of the items mentioned in the song. For those I decided to create some wall art/photos for those.In fact my non-digital mini me decided she wanted to help so she edited one of the pictures on the wall. I won't tell you which one though.

      For the girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes I chose a bride and her flower girl. Over my shoulder you can see my silver white winter melting into spring, at least my take on it, and wild geese with the moon of their wings. I also figured a sled with bells could totally count as sleigh bells, because, well it's my post and I get to say so. Onto the credits, which will be a little different this week.

Dieting Can Be Murder

“Your Honor my client pleads not guilty by reason of temporary insanity”, the public defender stated to the Judge. This was his big chance, a chance to make a name for himself by defending the accused in the trial of a lifetime. You see in this case the defendant is accused of viciously murdering her male companion. It all started on a regular Thursday evening, the accused, we will call her Phire, was busy preparing a salad for dinner. Something light and healthy, since they were both trying to get ready for a tropical beach vacation. In walked the deceased, we will call him Duncan*, chowing down on a burger. Now Phire had been sticking to their diet religiously, giving up all the things she loved, especially chocolate. Seeing Duncan eating that burger drove Phire into a rage, you could say the Phire became an inferno. Before she knew what was happening she drove the knife she was using to chop vegetables straight into Duncan’s heart.

After realizing what she has done Phire panicked, she needed to do something fast! She needed to get him out of the house and hidden.

Using all her might, Phire dragged the still warm body of Duncan out of the kitchen and into the shed in the back garden. She leaned him up in the corner of the small shed and hid his body beneath bags of fertilizer. She needed time to come up with a plan to get rid of the body...but that was not to be. So today she sits in the courtroom hoping that jury of her peers understand that dieting can be murder.

* Duncan was actually named because of a Dunkin Donuts cup I spotted in my office while trying to think of a name. This post was inspired by my being on a diet. For the record I have not murdered anyone because of it.

Always Tulips, Never Roses

        Everyone has something they prefer, when it comes to flowers it's always tulips and never roses. I just don't care for roses, nor do I care for diamonds. Yes I wear diamonds, but the ones I wear have sentimental value. In my digital life that dislike doesn't carry over as much. You see in my digital life I don't have to smell the roses (not a scent I am a fan of), no do I feel uncomfortable in diamonds in my digital life.


      While roses don't bother me in my digital life I will always pick them up whenever I see them being sold.

It's Hair fair time!

      Fall is officially here and so it the 2018 Hair Fair. It arrived yesterday just like fall, and I was in bed with a cold for both, go figure. But I rallied myself and here I am with my first post. Now I could give you an onslaught of picture with me in my new hairs, but today is going to be in information filled post, maybe with a little hair thrown in. First thing is first, there are 4 sims with hair named Brunette, Blonde, Redhead, and Noirette. There are also two cam sims in case you can't get into the four main sims. Oh and for you guys out there this is not a ladies only event. There are quite some handsome styles for the fellas too, and they are all marked with a big giant symbol over the shop so you can't miss them. For a sneak peak at all the hair and their locations you should hit up the official Hair Fair Blog. That will show you the styles, give you the slurls, and the location of the booth on the sim!Now don't forget that this is a charity even and a certain percent of all sales will benefit Wigs For Kids. My own daughter has donated her hair to Wigs For Kids a couple of times. She loves helping other kids and you should like helping them too! Before I forget the hair fair runs to the 7th of October, so if it is full this weekend you still have plenty of time. Now How about I show you one of the hairs I purchased at the Hair Fair?


      As you can see for this first Hair Fair picture I chose a cute pony tail style. This is because it is the way I wear my hair most days in my non digital life. My hair does that curly wavy thing, so tossing it in a pony tail is a much easier way to deal with it. Now I know some of you have seen me wear clothes from {amiable} before, but this is new hair from the same creator. There is also a cute pigtail style, and a short bob type as well!

The Broken Hearted

     There she is in the quiet unused corner of her home, everything seeming frozen in time. The cobwebs from the spiders who call this spot home have covered the walls and furniture, yet they never seem to be brushed away. The only thing fresh and new is the rose clutched in her hand as she stares at the cake that would have marked their union.



      While it seems the objects in this corner have remained untouched by time, the forgotten bride has not fared as well. The years show their mark upon her skin, her once flawless skin now wrinkled and marred by age. The heart she once proudly wore as a gift from the man she was to wed now rest against her skin hastily repaired. While the favor from him may have been repaired the heart that once skipped a beat at the sight of him is now in pieces in her chest. Never in her time alone was she able to find anything or anyone that could put those tattered pieces back together.

Wedding Season

      May and June are always chock full of celebration's that it can get exhausting. Not only do you have graduations, but there are weddings around every corner. Sometime you are a guest and other times you are in the bridal party. That means photos, and lots of them. You do your duty for as long as you possibly can, but then you just need to let loose. Maybe while you picture partner is looking pretty for the camera you can give a quick wink to the hottie best man.


      If you are lucky you won't get caught by  the photographer. I don't suggest doing such at a graduation party, unless they are finished with college. In that case flirt away!

Fixing a Koala Nightmare

Every once in a while I take my adorable niece Livy to her grandparents cabin for a get away. It's a little cabin full of older furnishing and stuff my parents felt the need to keep. In one of the bedrooms sit a koala bear that I got as a graduation gift ages ago. Someone saw my cute bear and thought it would be funny to tell Livy about drop bears! Now she is terrified of the sweet bear sitting upon the chair. I think she envisions this when she looks at my poor bear.

Tonight when she was all ready for bed she covered her eyes trying to hide from the koala.

Since she was so terrified I decided to make up a little story to help her fall asleep and maybe forget about the whole drop bear thing...

Once upon a time there was a smart koala named Klaude. He lived in a house very similar to this one. He was a sneaky little koala and like to sneak out of bed at night and head to the kitchen to look for sweet treats.

After sneaking a treat he would head outside to find his friend Botti the black bear.

Botti was an avid painter so he would always talking to Klaude about colors and shapes, but inevitably their conversations always devolved into talk of food. This is usually the point where Klaude bid a fond farewell to his friend and headed back indoors. Klaude would climb up into his favorite chair and drift off to sleep, just like you should be. Maybe my own Klaude will have some adventures tonight protecting you from nightmares.  The End
With the story told Livy peacefully drifted off to sleep and there were no nightmares had that night.

The Forgotten Corner

Here lies the forgotten corner of the attic. You know the spot where you put the furniture and such that is not in use. The stuff that will probably never be used but you can't see fit to get rid of it and let it go on to a new home. Yeah that corner. I finally went up to this ignored corner and found it infested, infested with imps! They seemed to have had themselves at home.

That imp it appears has a thing for the creepy old doll that scares me too much to get rid of. She has haunted my nightmares since I ventured up there.

Next I spotted these to, um fellas? I think they may have been playing patty-cake or maybe they were about to fight. I have no idea and didn't bother finding out because I was distracted by a grunting noise.

I looked down to see an imp in the process of giving his opinion on some love letters I had stored up there. I wasn't sure whether I should shoo him away or take it as a hint that is was time to let those love letters go. I didn't stick around to figure it out. I just backed my way out of the attic and closed the door. Maybe I will venture up there again at some point, but I really have no desire to see what that one imp did to those letters. And that doll lives up there and I don't think I can take more nightmares!

Love Her?

Every night she steps out of her coffin, her lips still showing where they were once sewn shut. When she was alive she was a beautiful and trusting girl. That trust is why she ended up in her lonely grave. The one man she loved and trusted put her there. Just a few short days after they were wed he poisoned her and stitched her lips closed so that she could not tell her tragic tale even in death. I Don't Clean

As you can probably guess from the picture I don't clean this room often. And by often I mean ever. I have better things to do than dust away cobwebs, then again I think anything is better than dusting.

See now this is a much better use of my time. Lounging around eating pizza and playing video games. Who wants to be a responsible grown up?

Now I am not trying to imply that I am lazy or anything but I can't even be bothered to pull my pants up all the way. It takes too much effort and I am nursing a pizza hangover. My pal Sunny is still chowing down on pizza. I have no idea where Sunny puts it. I think the shell just hides a massive stomach. Sunny is one tricky snail!

Smoothie Time

Smoothies are one of those food that combine a whole bunch of healthy things into one. While there are lots of places that sell smoothies some of us find it safer to make them at home. No worries about cross contamination. I have to avoid strawberries since I am allergic to them which makes summer a complete bummer for me. The being said I decided I would whip up my own smoothie with a little banana and some other fruits.

I have to say I make one heck of a tasty smoothie. Just the right blend of fruits so no one fruit overpowers the other. Now if only I could get someone to clean the blender for me I could sit back relax and enjoy the summer sun.

The Neat One

So many choices so few fingers. Hmm that could have sounded better, but you know what I mean. I have a nailpolish addiction and this just fuels it even more. Of course in my non-digital life I have quite a few bottles more and stand there just like that trying to pick a shade of the moment. I can't handle naked nails! But that is not the only part of my beauty routine.
I have my vanity all set up with all the things I need to make myself presentable during the day, or night. Seriously you do not want to see what this face looks like first thing in the morning! I try to keep everything neat and tidy, but sometimes spills happen. Maybe I should store some if it in the drawers. I should probably install childproof locks on there too. The last time my niece was over she got a hold of a tube of lipstick...it was not pretty. Well the lipstick was, the results of Livy getting a hold of it were not!

I made breakfast

It's not often that I am the first one awake or that I bake something for breakfast. I usually save all my baking for afternoons or evenings. Today I thought I would be nice and make some croissants and coffee, we can pretend we are back at that little Parisian cafe. Who can't use a reminder of such a wonderful trip on on Monday morning? Mary Poppins I am not!

Mary Poppins was a lying little dear,or maybe it was because she the little darlings she watched were older, either way being a nanny is a thankless job.

I mean here I am taking care of this couple's most valuable thing and what am I doing, waiting for a bottle to warm while eyeing the pasteries. Oh but I can't have any because those are for company, like that actually eat it. They all take a slice and push it around their plates wasting the delicate treats. But that is not the point. Mary Poppins made being a nanny seem all fun and games. The only time I have fun is when I can get outside for a walk in the park.

Listen if you see a man named Bert who is a one man band, chimney sweep and sidewalk chalk artist could you send him my way? I don't mind if he has a doddering old uncle who laughs himself to the ceiling. I could just use a trip into a magical land where penguins serve me tea and I can sit down without someone needing their nappy changed.

Broken Heart or Rage Brewing

I can't tell from the look on my face if I am broken hearted or if there is a rage brewing. I had been going for a broken heart, you know with Valentine's Day this weekend I wanted to do something. As I was looking the picture it also looked like a woman scorned and there is some rage brewing in her face. A quiet night in

Last nigh?t I had a nice quiet night curled up staying warm. It started in the kitchen where I brewed up something nice and warm to drink, a must on a cold snowy night.

I chose my glasses mug because it went well with my chosen activity of the night. I moved across my apartment to the bed where I had the rest of my supplies stacked up.

I didn't intend to read through all those books in one night, but I wanted to have options available to myself. I have a hard time picking a book to read. I am however trying to work my way through the top 25 classics at least according to one site I found. So far I have finished Wuthering Heights. I chose one from the stack and got down to reading.

Twas the night

Before Christmas when all through the house the furry little creatures were messing about. A little girl lay all snug in her sack while waiting for Santa to come back. She tired her hardest to stay awake, but the warmth of the fire cause her to drift off to dreamland. She had dreams of cookies and cake all of which her mother did bake. On Christmas morning oh the joy as she unwrapped each and every toy. And now my post has come to an end and with it I say Happy Christmas to all and to all a good Thursday!
