Dieting Can Be Murder

“Your Honor my client pleads not guilty by reason of temporary insanity”, the public defender stated to the Judge. This was his big chance, a chance to make a name for himself by defending the accused in the trial of a lifetime. You see in this case the defendant is accused of viciously murdering her male companion. It all started on a regular Thursday evening, the accused, we will call her Phire, was busy preparing a salad for dinner. Something light and healthy, since they were both trying to get ready for a tropical beach vacation. In walked the deceased, we will call him Duncan*, chowing down on a burger. Now Phire had been sticking to their diet religiously, giving up all the things she loved, especially chocolate. Seeing Duncan eating that burger drove Phire into a rage, you could say the Phire became an inferno. Before she knew what was happening she drove the knife she was using to chop vegetables straight into Duncan’s heart.

After realizing what she has done Phire panicked, she needed to do something fast! She needed to get him out of the house and hidden.

Using all her might, Phire dragged the still warm body of Duncan out of the kitchen and into the shed in the back garden. She leaned him up in the corner of the small shed and hid his body beneath bags of fertilizer. She needed time to come up with a plan to get rid of the body...but that was not to be. So today she sits in the courtroom hoping that jury of her peers understand that dieting can be murder.

* Duncan was actually named because of a Dunkin Donuts cup I spotted in my office while trying to think of a name. This post was inspired by my being on a diet. For the record I have not murdered anyone because of it.

Music Monday - Total Eclipse of the Heart

      I am sure when I said something Halloween related this song is not what popped into your mind first. You were most likely  thinking something along the lines of Thriller, Monster Mash, or quite possibly something from Rocky Horror Picture Show, and all would have been great choices if I hadn't read something recently. You see I learned that the song was originally written to me in a musical Nosferatu, and was originally titled "Vampires in Love". So you see in a round about way it's a perfect Halloween song. Now I am sure you want to see the photo so here it is!



      I took a lot of elements from the video for this weeks photo/song combo. In fact this is the song that really got me started on this journey. I had been planning to pay homage to this song for a while and after watching the video way too many times the idea finally clicked. In the shadows

It is cold and lonely in the shadows. There however is no paradise by the dashboard lights in this deep dark night. Yup I totally made a Meatloaf reference in this post. Does it show my age? Fire and Water

When the Daughter of Fire and the Son of Water get together things get a little steamy. The world seems to fade away in a cloud of mist and fog. They can only sneak out and be together rarely. warring factions a-la Romeo and Juliet. However these two will not meet the same fate at those star crossed lovers, they are determined to find a way to make their love work. Maybe they can run off to Hawaii with the volcanoes and beaches they would be able to see one another more often. Lovers can dream right?

Lifting little weight

Okay so maybe the weight isn't being lifted just held up. It still counts as leg work though right? We are hanging out in the kitty corner of doom! Just like in any house with little kids the soft squishy things that Livy is allowed to play with are on the bottom shelf. She is a well behaved little thing, but sometime even the best behaved can be curious little creatures. Livy is like her Auntie Phire, she adores kitties. I may have had some fun playing the Little Llama gacha machine at The Gacha Garden. You should go forth and get your kitty on too.

A Pirate Story Part Two

            When Morgana woke up the following morning she found a beautiful gown draped next to her. She has no idea who is was from or who had spotted her, but since it covered her much more than what she was wearing she put it on. Once dressed she spotted a ship in the cove below her, it felt like ages since she had been the captain of her own vessel.

           She lusted after the ship terribly and was lost to her own thoughts. She was staring dreamily at the ship as a stranger approached. He said to her, "I see you are staring at my ship.", needless to say this startled her greatly as she did not hear his approach.

               He didn't let on that he knew her to be the much famed Captain Morgana, but all good pirates knew who she was. He invited her to join him on his ship. Having few options available to her and with much caution she decided to join him. They sailed far from the archipelago that had caused her so much grief. She taught him how to be a feared but just pirate as they sailed the seas together. Overtime they took their fortune and sailed off into the sunset, putting their pirating days behind them.

White Christmas

Yesterday I happened upon the old movie White Christmas, the dresses at the end reminded me slightly of the ones I had seem for sale at Dead Dollz. Of course I popped over and grabbed it because it was one of those moments of inspiration that come along.

Now if you have ever seen the movie you will know what I am talking about, however if you have never seen it just Google it and you will understand. I admit I have a love of old movies, there is just something about them. I think I have droned on about them before.

I just had to show you everything I was wearing and the pretty back of the dress so I made a little collage. Oh and I can't forget my partner in this post...the tree!

At the Midwinter Fair you can pick up the tree from Libertine which is decoratable, then you just hit up the gacha machine for baubles and toppers and candles and the like. It fit so well with the post given the older feel of the ornaments and candles. Aside from candles and ornaments there are rugs and a secret prize to be won! So if you want a tree that can be uniquely you go for it!

Going to the Ball

As everyone knows Friday was Valentine's Day. To celebrate Lola invited me to go to a Masquerade Ball and I dragged a date along with me. Because I am such a bossy pants I asked him to pick me up at my house, because I am super cheesy like that.

Luckily he is willing to put up with my whims. I let Lola pick out my dress for me, since she let me pick out hers, even if she didn't wear it. When we got to the Ball we danced the night away. I was lucky enough to grab a picture.

We made a pretty cute couple if I do say so myself. While my date was mask less I was not and I went all out with the silver and the red.

Someone needs to throw a masked ball again because it was really fun to dress up all fancy.
