Snow White's Secret Cottage

   Men have their man caves and women their she sheds. Well imagine being a princess who spent time in a cottage with animal helpers and little me. I imagine moving to a large palace with people all around could become quite tiresome for someone like Snow White. So little known to the Prince, the guards or anyone else she kept a little cottage in the woods where she could escape to when she needed.

   She had many helpers to keep her quaint cottage looking neat and tidy. The biggest helpers were the bunnies. They each had jobs that they took very seriously to keep the cottage in order.


   Sometimes they were a bit clumsy, but then again everyone has and off day now and then. No bunny is perfect after all. Sometimes they ever shrunk the laundry, but Snow White didn't mind. She was just happy to have a quiet retreat to sneak off to.


   If only the staff at the castle were as hard working as the bunnies!

I'm just a girl

Today's trip down lovers lane brings us to Knotting Hill, and a little travel bookshop. If you haven't guessed and I am just referring to a place, but also the movie Knotting Hill. This time I am taking on the scene where Julia Roberts (Anna) confesses her feelings to Hugh Grant (Will).

Tattoos and Me

Some things you may not know about the non-digital me is that my hair is currently red and I have two Celtic inspired tattoos on my body. Nope I don't have pictures, it's hard to take a picture of your own shoulder. I don't have nearly as many tattoos as seen here, not does my hair ever look this fantastic.


The swirl  bit you see in the middle of my chest there is what I have tattooed on my wrist, though it's a little changed to be more meaningful to me, which isn't that what a tattoo should be, meaningful to the wearer I mean? If you click on the picture you can see better, but there is a lot of Celtic knotwork going on here too. That is what I have on my shoulder, though my knots are in the shape of a star. What can I say I have a thing for stars. Please forgive my pictures if they are a little on the blurrier side of things. I am still getting used to the new computer and it's graphics. The Many Loves of Black Widow

                   Every year about this time the Black Widow make her way to the graveyard. It's her own private graveyard where she visits old friends. And by friend I mean her old lovers. You see she is a Black Widow, not just because all her husbands die oh no, that would be too simple. You see she is a demon, the kind who gets foolish mortals to marry her, and then they die. They die without anyone ever being the wiser. It's like they just vanish from all memory. All memory except for hers. So every year she comes to see her forgotten loves.


                   Some she mourns more than others. He may not have been her first, but he will always be her favorite. If she could turn back time, maybe change her ways he could come back to her. Alas it seems to be only a dream for her for she is who she is. Next year she will be back and there will be more forgotten for her to visit.

The Sea Witch's Sister

By now you may be familiar with the Sea Witch who made the deal with the Little Mermaid. That sea hag was pretty darn evil if you ask me. Did you know she had a sister, well half sister to be fair. Maybe because she is only the evil Sea Witch's half sister that is why she is rarely brought up. Either way, she inherited all the witchiness, but none of the evil part.




While here sister was living in the ocean making disastrous deals with the merfolk, Alma was on the land trying to make things better. She would do her very best to try and assist the merfolk who visited the ruins near her home. Alma was also know to help any other types of folk who came for her assistance.

While her look may have intimidated some, the tales of her aid spread far and wide, leading to a great number of folks seeking her help. Through her assistance and kindness to all she was able to obtain the sort of life her sister could only have dreamt of.

Two Ladies, one event

The title says it all. If you haven't been to Sanarae yet here is a look at two different outfits that could be yours. Of course there are others, but we are only two bodies. I picked this cute little set from M.I.X because it had such a vintage feel to it. If I could time travel all I would do is shop, and maybe drink, but mostly shop. Bunny on the other hand went for a more cozy look with a big sweater.


We are both rocking some hair from Wasabi Pills, different styles of course. I went for a short do to and to that vintage-y feel. If you happen to wonder about the look on my face I was mid eye roll about whatever it was she was going on about. Now I must dash and get things done before the rain comes a calling.

The Sea Sprite

Fear not this little is not sad, she is just blue by nature. It helps her hide in the waters she calls home. She was a playful one when I was snapping these pictures of her in her watery home. She was doing flips, twists and all other manner of aquatic acrobatics. I have no idea how old she is exactly, she looks younger than I am, but you never know with this type of creature. She could be pushing a century and I would never know. She gave a beautiful iridescent shell when I had to depart, maybe it means we are friends now?

It's okay

"No need to be sad little one", the kind angel said. She was speaking to one of her younger charges who was crying over her difference. You see while all the other angels had sparkling white wings, the little angels wings were purple. Baking Pies

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the US so it's time to bake those pies. There is only so much room in the oven with the big ol' turkey in there. So today Livy and I went on a pie baking mission at my house while her mom cleaned theirs. First up was making the crust. This is not as fun as I had thought. In fact it took me more than one try to get the crust right. I am new at this crust from scratch thing. I did have quite the adorable helper.


After baking the pies we needed for tomorrow we decided to use the leftover crust dough and filling to make little hand pies. I should have known not to turn my back on a little trouble maker...


That little Thanksgiving turkey stole one of the mini pies and tried to run away from me! Oh well her mom will have to deal with a messy sugar monster tonight and not me. I am such a loving sister!

Autumn

This year I am getting used to a whole different type of autumn than I have known. Warm days and green leaves are not what I grew up with, but I am sort of liking it. However the hurricane bit I could do without. I shouldn't complain, because all the sunshine and green makes me a happy camper. Well not a camper because I am not a sleep under the stars kind of person. I do however like to take walks. On of my favorite places to walk around is Old Saint Augustine. If you ever get the chance you should totally visit. I should stop there before I turn this into a tour guide post.

Omens in Flight

Have you ever Googled the name of something you bought because it was a word you have never seen before? I have, in fact I do it very often for certain brands, mostly from We ♥ Roleplay. Finding out what the word means usually influences what I decide to do for a photo. This is one of those times, of course as usual I took some creative liberties.

Standing there watching the birds in their flight one can often wonder what they are doing. Are they playing a game, running from something or may they are just a sign from above that needs interpretation? If it is the last then that is where I come in. You see I am an modern day Auspex, a bird watcher of sorts. You see I have a gift to divine omens from the flight of these birds you see here. Not all omens are bad, however these are ravens so...yeah.

One day I hope to be able to take flight just like the birds I spend my time watching, until then I will be content interpreting the messages they bring to me.

Planning an Invasion

I have a geeky admission to make. I have been playing a table top RPG for the last couple months. It's actually pretty fun and I was surprised by my enjoyment of it. What does that have to do with this post you may be asking yourself. Well you see there are some bad AI's in it and I figured this is what one may look like if it were placed into a humanoid body. Yes it is just that nerdy.

My Week With Livy - Day Five - Kite Flying

I am a big fan of the Disney movie Mary Poppins, so I am always wanting to fly a kite. I decided that kite flying should be one of the activities that I do with Livy. It probably would have been more effective in the spring or even at the beach, but she didn't care. Just getting her kite that little bit off the ground was enough to make her day. The best part for me was that she exhausted herself running back and forth so she slept like a champ.

The Watchers

They watch over the place they call home. They aren't the watchers for invaders, no that is left to the trained scouts. Their job is just as important though, they watch over the balance of them and their natural surroundings. They make sure the water stays pristine, though on this day it's a little hazy causing it to look grey. They do not see anything harmful floating in the water which is important.


They also make sure there is enough food to go around, they know they share their home with all sorts of creatures big and small. If they take too much vegetation there may not be enough for the critters. Speaking of critters, if they hunt too many of them, then the balance is thrown off. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it!

Calm Before the Storm

One thing I have learned since I moved to Florida is never trust a blue sky. It can turn grey and pour in a matter of minutes. There is always this calm before the heavens open up. I don't mind it though because I love the sound of the rain hitting the roof. That being said I need to run out to the store before the rain visits today.

We ♥ Roleplay

Today I am going to share two different looks that were inspired by pretties from We ♥ Roleplay. The first up in a sweet looking villager taking the time to stop and smell the daisies. I was feeling in the mood for flowers and warmth for this one.

I just feels so warm and inviting, better than the snow I saw today that is for sure!


For this next one I went and embraced Fire, which most of you know is how my Second Life name is pronounced. Some claim I have named myself for my temper, but I am not *that* bad.

What I think is really cool is the fact that both pictures use the same head applier, but with a change of lipstick and a different windlight it changes it. One looks pure and innocent and the other sexy and sultry. Shall we move on to the credits?

My posts may be a bit sporadic as I am moving. I am going where there is no snow and lots of sunshine!

At Peace With Winter

It's Groundhog's Day today and the prediction from Phil and Chuckles (our state groundhog) is that it will be an early Spring. With the mild winter we have had I don't think that is any surprise. That being said I think I have come to have an appreciation for Winter and the snow that it brings. This could be because I know it is my last winter in the Northeast. Gone will be the need to shovel, the threats of snow days and the ice slicked roads. The idea used to terrify me. I have never lived anywhere else, now I look at it like a grand new adventure. This adventure is leaving me buried in cardboard boxes currently, but it's all part of the fun right? So I shall bid a fond farewell to the winters I have known and embrace the winters yet to come.

Garden Maze

I have always wanted to go into a garden maze before in my non-digital life, and one of these days I hope to. I have had fun in corn mazes before, but it's just not the same as lush garden greens. So for now I have decided to be content with the digital version.

I have always wondered what happens if someone gets lost in a garden maze. I mean you can't exactly cut through the hedges, at least not that I imagine. How do they make sure no one is lost in it over night? I guess I could Google it but the answers I make up in my head are probably more amusing than the truth. I took several wrong turns and hot many a dead end before coming to the center of the garden maze I visited.

When I did get to the center it was very serene. There were butterflies flitting about and of course flowers. As you can see there are tulips in the center and tulips just happen to be my favorite flower.
