Taking a Moment

      After enjoying the sights of the season it what time to engage the my other senses. The smell of crisp leaves mingled with the spiciness of my cider as a gentle breeze rustles the leave that still clung to the trees. I picked up my warm mug of cider and relished the tart taste of apple mixed with the spices of the season. The warmth of the mug radiated up through may hands as the warm liquid slide down my throat, all of me warming with that one magical elixir.

      Then I woke, realized I lived in the south and it was still hot, and everything was still green. At least I can get some hot cider and pretend.

      That's right I have been away for a bit and here I am coming in hot. What can I say it looks like Dark Phire is in charge today. o would you like to play a game? Head I win, tails you lose...your head. Now now no need to be shy, I will even let you pick the coin.

Flower Ladies

      I am so happy that spring has sprung. I thrive on sunny skies and bright blooms, though I could take a pass on the pollen some days. I love seeing the trees come alive with green again. Gone are the dull greens of a southern winter, as if someone flipped a switch things are suddenly more vibrant. It looks like I inadvertently styled us to looks like a tree and the sun, or at least that is what it seems like to me. Maybe I am channeling my inner sunflower? Either way spring in here and I could not be happier about that.

A Snowy Afternoon

      It's been a while since I have actually seen a snowy day, which is a good thing for me. However it doesn't mean I have forgotten about snowy afternoons gazing out the window at the snow gently falling. Really I like to keep these pretty pictures of snow in my memories instead of the gross side of the road snow, and the shoveling out cars. Those days where there was a fire roaring making the house all cozy and warm, perfect for an afternoon curled up with a cup of coffee and a good book. Winters now mean everything is a duller shade of green and there are an abundance of little old men and ladies around.

Sugar Plum Guardian

      Every year around this time I read The Nutcracker, I have read it since I was younger and got it as a gift from my parents. I still read it to the girl child even though she has been able to read for quite some time now. With the new Nutcracker move that has come out it got me thinking. Well also the outfit from Schadenfreude got me thinking too. I was going to do the much expected ballet type photos, but that seemed to obvious so I came up with these.

    

  I figured the realm where the Sugar Plum fairy lives would have to be guarded some how. Sure it could be guarded by more Nutcrackers, but I think a staff wielding ballerina fairy is cooler. There she is guarding the portal that will lead to the lands of the Sugar Plum Fairy. I am pretty sure her staff can blind you with sprinkles, jimmies, shots, it whatever they are called where you call home.

   
      I wouldn't want to mess with her so make sure before you try entering the lands of the Sugar Plum fairy you have a proper invitation, or else you may be seeing rainbows for the rest of your mortal life.

Reindeer Recruits

      Yesterday I showed you the cookie, cocoa, and candy making division of the Santa's North Pole enterprise. Today we are going to check out the reindeer. We know the names of the classic eight, and Rudolph, but did you know they are constantly recruiting more reindeer? You see sometime the reindeer get injured playing with reindeer games so there is always a need for backup. The recruits go through rigorous trials to find those just right to guide the sleigh at night. There have been some recruits that don't pass muster for the big show. These reindeer don't just get turfed out into the barren north, instead Santa finds other jobs for the non-sleigh deer.

      Sometimes when the elf meets the new recruits it's not the lot that is expected. There are some angry deer in this crew this year and some goofballs too! Her first task was to get them all up and in a line. If they can't line up, well it's hard to harness them to the sleigh. 

      Try as she might she had a hard time getting a certain reindeer to stand at attention. This one had a hard time following directions and so now he will become a pet for one of the elf families. It's kind of like having a pet dog to them. I am not certain how it works as I wasn't allowed into any of the elves home either. Maybe next year I will be lucky enough to maybe see how that works.

The Accused

      Since it's less than a week till Halloween I figured it was time to start this year's themed posts. This year I am going to be styling different witches, with creative license as usual. To start it all off I am touching on the accused witch of the Salem era. Now a days if you accused your neighbor of being a witch you would be ignored for the most part. Unfortunately this is not the same for the women in Salem who were accused of witchcraft.



      These accused woman were hung due to mass hysteria, of course they were all posthumously exonerated, but that doesn't erase the fact that they lost their lives. In fact many men, women and children were all accused of witchcraft. Sorry this isn't a history lesson and I will stop. I promise the other witches are all as deep as this one, but I had to start somewhere.

Wind in my hair

      A couple of weeks ago I asked a friend for a word and I would try to take a picture with said word in mind. He chose the word "windy". I knew there was a bunch few dresses and hairs that make it look like the wind is blowing you stuff all about, but that seemed too obvious. I wanted something a little more subtle and a bit more fun too. I was bopping around pose shops as I am want to do looking for a pose for something else when inspiration hit! A swing! When you are swinging on a swing it creates a wind blowing through your hair effect.



      As you can see there is just a hint of wind blowing through my hair. Mt challenger has not seen these picture yet so hopefully they will be acceptable, if not I will be back with more windy pictures. Oh he did tell me no farts allowed you know breaking wind and all. I have one more picture for you just because I had a lot of fun with this swing prop.

That was a silly bit of prose written to amuse myself. I can honestly say I have never gotten sloshed on mead, mostly because I don't like it. My friends however love the stuff. If you don't know what mead is it's an alcoholic drink made from fermented honey, water and water the brewer adds. It makes the post make more sense now huh? It also gave me an excuse to run around like a bee. I was tempted to make a pun about my stinger but I was fairly well behaved...today.

We ♥ Roleplay

Today I am going to share two different looks that were inspired by pretties from We ♥ Roleplay. The first up in a sweet looking villager taking the time to stop and smell the daisies. I was feeling in the mood for flowers and warmth for this one.

I just feels so warm and inviting, better than the snow I saw today that is for sure!


For this next one I went and embraced Fire, which most of you know is how my Second Life name is pronounced. Some claim I have named myself for my temper, but I am not *that* bad.

What I think is really cool is the fact that both pictures use the same head applier, but with a change of lipstick and a different windlight it changes it. One looks pure and innocent and the other sexy and sultry. Shall we move on to the credits?

Serving the Queen

The Queen loves to throw garden parties. She needs to have her tarts of course but she also demands to have red rose cupcakes and heart cakepops. She insisted I set up a separate table with mushroom shaped treats and "drink me" bottles. She figures anyone who eats the non-regal treats are traitors and she will shout for the removal of their heads. I loathe her garden parties. Hopefully word of mouth has spread about the mushrooms and bottles because I am not sure how many more "off with their heads" the kingdom can take!

Hopefully the time is near for the Alice girl to return and save us from this mad queen. Maybe she could so something other than growing large an disappearing on us this time!

Fruit Not Lollipops!

Have you ever tried to reason with a toddler? It never ends well, someone always ends up in tears and it is usually the adult. This is what happened recently when I tried to have a healthy treat time with my adorably stubborn niece Livy. You see I went through all the work of making, fine buying, a whole bunch of yummy fruity treats for us to have in a little backyard afternoon camp out. Sorry you won't catch me actually sleeping under the stars unless you could a skylight. However a certain small someone had other ideas, specifically some lollipops. I still am baffled about where she pulled those from. I mean here I spent good money on a cute watermelon grill and tons of fruit kebabs. I thought she would love eating them. She obviously likes to eat fruit flavored things on sticks, just not actual fruit.

I took a little breather to try and recoup and not lose my marbles. I finally thought up a compromise that did the trick. She got to eat one lollipop, but only after she ate some fruit, either on a skewer or in a popsicle form. I may have also promised she could have one for dessert after we ate dinner later in the night. I think next time she gets dropped off I am going to have to search her for candy contraband.

My Mushroom Hideaway

Everyone needs their own little hideaway, some of us only get a small space in their home, but Miss Elfy here gets a mushroom hideaway. Sure it doesn't have all the comforts of home, but there is a rug and and bench and I am betting she has some books stashed away in there too. I know if I had a hideaway like that I would have a whole bundle of books tucked in there and maybe a little cooler for drinks.
