Jungle Protector

The jungle has always been protected by her watchful care. Many poachers have attempted to claim one of the animals in her care as a prize, none have been successful. Her days always start the same by checking on all the animals. It is simple because they live on a small island. After all the animals are accounted for her watch begins.

She carefully looks out across the land and into the sea looking for any approaching ships. They try to sneak onto the island but are always found be her and her fellow protectors. On occasion the interlopers will flee and leave behind items. That is hoe she obtained the boots that now protect her feet so well.

She also listens carefully to the sounds of the jungle. Some poachers are wising up to the vigilance of the island protectors and are dropping off men in the dark of night with plans to return to retrieve them and their prizes. They don't make it past the protectors. When she spots a group of them she sends a signal to the other protectors.

To an outsider it may look like she is giving a signal to kill them to her fellow protectors, but that is not the case. You see they never kill. The just round up the poachers, bundle them together in a neat little package and leave them on the beach, or send them off in their boats. They have never seen the same poachers twice.

The Poetry Muses

I like to thinks that there are muses for all sorts of things, like poetry. I also like to think they are specialized and need to recharge their musing powers. For today I have selected three of the poetry muses. First we will look at the one who inspires poems about the woods and tress and such.

When this muse needs to recharge she seeks refuge in the forest surrounded but all the trees. She communes with the trees and after a while she feels rested and rejuvenated enough to go out and inspire sylvan poems.
The next muse is like a sister to the Muse of Sylvan Poetry, she is the Muse of Flowers.

I am sure that it comes as no surprise that she finds flowers to have a restorative quality. She wanders fields of breathing in deeply the fragrance of the flowers growing there. When she is ready she goes off to inpire poets to write about the beauty of flowers in many ways. The last muse I was able to come across is the Night Muse, she inspires all those poems about the night, the moon and the stars. Some of my favorite things.

This muse rarely needs to seek out a special place to recharge as the night comes well nightly.She gazes upon the moon and stars in the dark sky. She finds that she feels the most power radiating from a full moon on a cloudless night. By day she is out there helping poets write about that time that she holds so dear. There was one other poetry muse out there, but she was very elusive and I never was able to track her down. She is the Muse of Hearts, she inspires all those heartfelt poems that lovers, or ex-lovers write. Maybe she has her own lover that she draws upon. If that is the case then maybe that is why I never saw her?

To the farmstand

Where I live late May through early October are the best months. That is because I can go to one of the many farms and Farmer's Markets in the area and get fresh fruits and veggies. At some of the local places you can even go pick your own. My favorite to go and pick are apples, but I have to wait a couple more months for that. If fact just this weekend I picked up some fresh blueberries and turned those into blueberry muffins this morning. Later this weekend I will hit the farm down the street again to get some veggies for a salad. Unfortunately it is only in Second Life that I can bike to a farm stand to pick up fresh milk, veggies and bread. All the places near me are either too far away or require traveling on very busy dangerous streets.

It's time to head home with my bounty and see what I can cook up with the fresh goodies.

Bringer of Life

She brings life to all the flora of the forest when the time comes for them to wake from the earth. She has an especially soft spot for flowers, their colors and scent just seem to invigorate her making this her favorite time of year.

Sometimes she will just sit with the fragrant blossoms and drift off into her own mind. She looks kind of spacey when she does so she tries to find a secluded spot in case someone spies her.
This dress, staff and crown are all from The Epiphany, the latest gacha event to hit the grid. This own has it's own little twist though. You can redeem your gacha scores for points. I love this because it means I can do something with all the extras I inevitably end up with. Then you can take those points and spend them on exclusives! Not a bad deal for those gacha junkies out there. Not that I would know anything about being one of those. So head on over to The Epiphany and get your gacha on before August 4th.

Time Out Troublemaker

My adorable little niece Livy has been visiting me a lot lately. I thought I would make a cute little space in my house for her to enjoy, a small play area complete with some space for me to chill and watch her.

Of course as with all kids she caused a little mischief so I needed to put her in time out. Even the fun Aunt needs to have some rule. She was less than thrilled with me.

After her time out we had a brief review of the rules and then some cookies. Cookies make everything better. I may have also promised her a trip to the beach in the future.

Unholy Love Child

It appears that the Bride of Frankenstein stepped out on her husband with their monstrous neighbor Edward, you may know him by his full name, Edward Scissorhands. Mrs. Frankenstein loved her daughter very much but her husband couldn't stand the site of her and so she was locked away in a tower Rapunzel style. Unfortunately I don't think there will be a roguish thief or handsome prince coming to her rescue.

Every day she looks down from her tower hoping for freedom. Maybe one day she will find a way to escape or someone will free her, but until then she has the bats that fly around to keep her company.
