Opening Pandora's Box

I have opened Pandora's box, only instead of it being filled with all the evils of the world, these boxes are filled with memories. Each box contains it's own set of sentimental items. Maybe I did open Pandora's box with all these reminders of you.

That book you said reminded you of us, those love letters you sent and that one single red rose given before you knew my true favorite flower. All these things stirring up memories and here I am with only a blazing fire to keep me warm.

Are these my ghosts of Christmas or times past? Maybe they are reminders of the love we continue to have for one another? Maybe I am just a sentimental old fool. Who knows....

Pink Princess

I have decided that this week I shall dress as a princess all week. See it's my birthday this week and I figured what better way to celebrate than be a pretty princess all week. I don't know it's just the way my brain happens to work, go figure. I am starting off the week looking pretty in pink, it happens to be my little princess's favorite color.

One of the things I keep telling myself I will learn one of these years is how to play the piano. I am not exactly talented when it comes to the musical department. I have never played an instrument for longer than a few weeks, though I think my parents are grateful the drums were so short lived. I am also fairly certain I couldn't carry a tune with even the largest of buckets, but I digress.

Maybe I will put playing the piano into my list of things I will do at some time, for now I will go and plot my other princess-y looks.

Never a moment alone

Being a princess isn't all it's cracked up to be. You never have a moment to yourself, like ever. Here is a picture of me out by the pond on our country estate.

What you can't see is that behind the column and behind the rocks are my security team. I know they are just trying to keep me safe and all, but man these guys are hard to shake! I shouldn't be admitting this, but I have even tried to sneak out a window in the middle of the night and by the time I hit the ground they were there to take me back inside. Maybe I need to get one of look a likes, then I can send her out as a decoy. Sure it may not be safe, but sometimes a girl longs for freedom.

Maybe if I stand really still behind this column they won't notice me. A girl can dream right?

Baking is calming

There is something so satisfying about baking for me. I love to bake all sorts of sweet things, but I never really eat them. When I was out exploring with the husband last night we came upon this house. When we walked inside I knew I had to take a picture there and I knew I wanted to wear this dress from Lassitude & Ennui from Fantasy Faire. It just seemed to perfect. Of course I couldn't let the post go by without a shot of the hair I chose to go with it.

The hair seemed to compliment the dress so well.

The Muse

Everyone has their own idea of what a Muse is. There are the Greek mythological goddesses and there are the more human forms as well, such as a lover. We have all dealt with the lack of inspiration before and it can be quite frustrating to be certain. Take this poor soul for instance. His Muse is no where to be found thus leaving him annoyed and rapidly approaching his deadline.

Where can his Muse have gone? You can't expect a Muse to be on call all day every day now can you? They deserve a break too. Sometimes they are away on vacations and other times it's just a quick coffee break.

In this case she was just getting a quick cup of coffee. Even the Muse has a boss though and he ordered her back to work right away. No rest for those that inspire I guess.

The Muse sprinkles her magic dust upon her charge and he is off to work again. he has yet to miss a deadline while in her care and he most likely never will. She will always be on hand to inspire him, even if she cuts it a little close.

The Green Witch

I am not ready to give up on gowns just yet, but I didn't want to be a princess anymore. Yes even I can get burnt out on being a princess. Instead today I am going to be a witch, but not the wicked kind, more of the forest dwelling herbal remedy making kind of witch.

Don't let the horns fool you, I promise there is nothing evil in what I am doing. I am just taking care of my plants. Honestly! Here look I have proof.

See I told you, nothing but me, the plants and the soil. Besides I do all the brewing and potion making in the house. I can't control the weather so it's really just safer to work in a controlled environment. No there are no pictures of me working up a potion or brew. Those are trade secrets. I mean you wouldn't ask a magician to reveal their tricks, well it's just like that. I will however share what I am wearing.
