I am Predictable

      I swear I tried not to go with the obvious choice, in fact I was thinking water or ice, but sometimes we can't deny who we are. I am Phire and I will always have a strong draw to fire. What am I talking about you may be asking yourself, or not, I'm not a mind reader. Well you see at We <3 Roleplay right now there are elemental tops, that happen to match the elemental pants from lassitude & ennui. There were options for elements and I was going to go with something icy, but it was not meant to be.  Instead I embraced my inner fire and well, here have a look.

      If you couldn't guess I had a little fun with this one. Fireballs and candles and so much red. It's a good thing I can only wield fireballs in the digital world, because I have a feeling I would keep the firefighters busy otherwise.

Awkward Holiday Card Season

      It's one of my favorite things of the holiday season, the family photo holiday cards. There are some that are just a collage of things the family did in the year, but then there are the gems. You know the kind, the posed happy family ones in matching outfits. I love those so very much for their awesome awkwardness. You always end up having to choose the least worst, because they are never actually good. Here is my own version of said family card.


      I don't do photo holiday cards personally because I am terribly at taking pictures when we are doing something, and everyone in the house hates how they look in pictures. I instead send out two different kinds of holiday cards, a "normal" one for family, and a crazy fun one for friends. That is all for now. Music Monday - Total Eclipse of the Heart

      I am sure when I said something Halloween related this song is not what popped into your mind first. You were most likely  thinking something along the lines of Thriller, Monster Mash, or quite possibly something from Rocky Horror Picture Show, and all would have been great choices if I hadn't read something recently. You see I learned that the song was originally written to me in a musical Nosferatu, and was originally titled "Vampires in Love". So you see in a round about way it's a perfect Halloween song. Now I am sure you want to see the photo so here it is!



      I took a lot of elements from the video for this weeks photo/song combo. In fact this is the song that really got me started on this journey. I had been planning to pay homage to this song for a while and after watching the video way too many times the idea finally clicked. Music Mondays - Play That Song

     This week we are popping back a more current song choice, Play That Song by Train. I have always been in awe of anyone who could play a musical instrument. I have zero talent in that department, but seem to be drawn to people who can. We all have our quirks right?

Music Mondays - Hate Myself For Loving You

Growing up I was a big fan of Joan Jett. In fact I used to drive my older sisters crazy but singing "I Love Rock & Roll" all the time. For the record I was four and it was their fault for intoducing me to her. So that being said it should come as no surprise that I have at least one Joan Jett song of my Music Mondays rotation.

Just in case you are wondering I did not pick this song thinking about someone specific. I think there is at least one time in our lives we regreted the feelings we had for someone. I was feeding off of that place. Since this photo is on the dark side, lighting wise I mean, I decided to take another shot to show you what I am wearing a little better. This is the point in this whole project that I realized it might be a good idea.

Music Mondays - Bed of Roses

      I had hoped to start this last Monday, but then Mother Nature decided to have a say in where I was. I guess that is the price you have to pay to live where the sun shines and the ocean is close. For the past few months I have been working on taking pictures inspired by songs and their music videos. For my first post I have gone with Bed of Roses by Bon Jovi.

      As you can see he is laying me down in a bed of roses. A little on the nose sure, but it was fun to create a scene based on lyrics. Party Girls!

I am not a nightclub kind of girl, I am more of a local bar kinda gal. That being said I have agreed to go to clubs with friends in the past, when I was younger of course. The only kinda club you would see me hitting now would be the sandwich kind. I will hit up a "club" in my digital life, but that is mostly to listen to music and pretend I am social.       I tried to think of a much better title, but as usual by brain is fried. I have just finished (mostly) with moving so things are in a state of disarray. I will quite with the whining because I look to pretty, in my opinion, to be whining. Take a look for yourself...

Flower Ladies

      I am so happy that spring has sprung. I thrive on sunny skies and bright blooms, though I could take a pass on the pollen some days. I love seeing the trees come alive with green again. Gone are the dull greens of a southern winter, as if someone flipped a switch things are suddenly more vibrant. It looks like I inadvertently styled us to looks like a tree and the sun, or at least that is what it seems like to me. Maybe I am channeling my inner sunflower? Either way spring in here and I could not be happier about that.

Wicked Witch

      Happy Halloween all you ghosts and ghouls and other things that go bump in the night. Today I am finishing off my witchy series with The Wicked Witch. As with the Good Witch I used The Wizard of Oz as one of my references for the Wicked Witch.



      As you can see I went with the classic green Wicked Witch skin, though I did skip the chin hairs and warts on the nose. It appears even as a Wicked Witch I still have vanity issues. Also with a name like Phire, you knew my witchy self had to toss around some fireballs, it's just too fitting.

      Here I am playing coy. I say playing because I am not sure I could ever actually be coy. Then again I think I could try to be shy and/or modest, but it's the alluring bit that eludes me. Hey stop laughing you! I could be modest if I wanted to be! Fine, even I couldn't type that with a straight face. I do think I am pretty awesome and have no problem saying such most days.


      Enough about me and my over-inflated ego. I am here to show pretty things, and cute things too, because that is how I would describe this hair from bonbon. It has a youthful nature to it that definitely vibes with the whole coy thing. Also since it is officially fall (though it's still in the 90's here) I am wearing a cardigan. I would live in cardigans year round if I thought I would withstand a southern summer in one. I love the color of the autumn leaves still, even if I don't get to see them.

My Own Heaven

      After a crazy weekend full of family, airports and plane trips I could use a little down time. Don't get me wrong it was a blast, but now it's a matter of getting back into a routine, and doing laundry. Oh and blogging, now that the insanity of traveling is over I can hopefully get back into a routine here too. I would like to point out that the flowers in my hair match the lining of my boots because I am coordinated like that...sometimes.


      I do look fairly angelic, which as anyone who knows me well knows that it's a lie. I mean I am not a terrible person by any means, at least I don't think I am. I am a smartass, and a bit sassy, but those are really bad things. I can be super nice too and I care lots about my friends.
