Plans change

      Living in the south I am now used to being flexible with my plans. Between the random rain storms, hurricanes and goodness knows what else it pays to be flexible. For instance moving your picnic to the living room when it is pouring out. Or when the power is out, or a fun combination of the two. Then again this isn't really just a southern thing. When I liked up north we lost power on occasion, and sometimes during the winter. Luckily we had an old fashioned wood stove that would heat up a room like nobodies business. I bought the picnic set used here for my birthday in August, finally took pictures in September and am now finally posting it. Life has a way of dictating when things get posted, but that is the way it is. Now I will present you with the credits while I go make myself a non-picnic lunch.

Too Early

      I am not a morning person, even when woken with a delivery of coffee to my face. I am cranky and irritable and will attempt to throw things if you ask me something before coffee has passed my lips. Also there is that whole morning breath thing, I wouldn't want to kiss me with stank breath what makes you think I want to kiss you? So when someone attempts to get all snuggly and cuddly I am not really down for that.



      I know that makes me sound like a terrible person and you may pity those who live with me, and I wouldn't blame you too much. I do on occasion wake up on the right side of the bed and those are the days where everyone is happy.I won't explain how me waking up on the right side of the bed makes others happy, you have imaginations, use them! Wind in my hair

      A couple of weeks ago I asked a friend for a word and I would try to take a picture with said word in mind. He chose the word "windy". I knew there was a bunch few dresses and hairs that make it look like the wind is blowing you stuff all about, but that seemed too obvious. I wanted something a little more subtle and a bit more fun too. I was bopping around pose shops as I am want to do looking for a pose for something else when inspiration hit! A swing! When you are swinging on a swing it creates a wind blowing through your hair effect.



      As you can see there is just a hint of wind blowing through my hair. Mt challenger has not seen these picture yet so hopefully they will be acceptable, if not I will be back with more windy pictures. Oh he did tell me no farts allowed you know breaking wind and all. I have one more picture for you just because I had a lot of fun with this swing prop.

This is Me

      Yesterday I watched The Greatest Showman, that musical staring Hugh Jackman as P.T. Barnum. I know the movie heavily glosses over fact that he was in fact a terrible person, but if I wanted facts I would watch a documentary and not a musical. I however enjoy musicals, and this one had a song that really struck a chord with me. "This is Me", a song sung in the movie by the "freaks", but I think anyone who has ever felt different or hurt by someone else's words can relate. I know I did. Being told by someone that no one will ever love you seriously can mess with a person...for a long time. I won't get into it because this is not the place for that. It did inspire me to take a picture in my digital life reflecting some of my non-digital imperfections, because they are part of what makes me, well me.



      Even this isn't truly me, there are still many scars missing, and tattoos too. Every mark on my body is a sign that I have lived, some of those times the scars were worth it and other times, not so much, but they each tell story. Those times when I am feeling weak I have a playlist I listen to and I look at a tattoo that reminds me I am strong. And now I have written a total bummer of a post. I promise the next one will be full of lightness and my usual randomness.

Are You Ready For Some Football?

       Football season has officially kicked off, no pun intended. I will admit that I naively thought that today was the beginning of the season. It made sense to me since Sundays and football go together like beer and hot wings. I was informed by the friend I wrangled into taking these pictures with me that football season actually started on Thursday. Now I know that around the world football is something different so in case you were confused I am talking about American football. I have no idea when the other kind of football season starts.



      I would be lying if I said I was a real football fan. I really only watch the Superbowl, and that is usually just for the commercials and half-time show. I may also get too loud and riled up when I do watch football, so it's best that I avoid it. I don't really have a team that I root for, but I usually go with the home team. Go Jags! When I was younger and not as broken as I am now I did play some football with guy friends. I was not afraid to try and tackle them. Their girl friends would watch from the sidelines, which is hindsight...nah who am I kidding being on the field was much more fun!


      Do you have a team you support? If so who? I know my friend here is a Carolina Panthers fan, and they happen to be playing today so I know where he will be.

County Fair

      Around these parts there are a lot of fairs and festivals. One of my favorites is the Datil Festival. For those who don't know the datil is a hot pepper, and St. Augustine is there the majority grow. I friend of mine grows her own and makes sauce and jelly with them. It is amazing. This is not about the Datil Pepper Festival though, it is just what inspired the idea of county fairs and the like, which in turn inspired this post.



      On of the best things about state and county fairs are the food. At the aforementioned Datil Festival you can get all types of food flavored with the datil pepper. I do not suggest the vegan chocolate with pepper though, unless you like that sort of thing. I like my treats sweet, like cotton candy. Oh or churros, I have a possibly unhealthy love of churros.



      Man just talking about churros has me seriously craving them now. Then again it is getting to be Fall and unlike many people my Fall flavor of choice is apple cinnamon. Speaking of which I happen to have a apple-y donut waiting for me. I am going to go eat that while you peruse the credits!
