Hippo Nightmare

      Have you ever woken up with a song stuck in your head for no reason what so ever? That's right I am talking about an earworm. Well I had one for almost a week. What song do you ask? Well I was stuck with "I want a hippopotamus for Christmas", every morning for almost a week. This was torture. I mean I love some Christmas music, but yikes this was not a song to have stuck in your head. I thought maybe taking a picture relating to the song might erase it from my brain. I am not sure if it helped, but I did finally wake up with a different song in my head, "Jingle Bells". Luckily that only lasted a day. What songs have you woken up with in your head?

      If you look carefully you can see that wee pumpkin says coming soon. No it's not some sort of baby announcement, the bridge to the baby factory had been burnt to the ground. No it's just my cheeky way of saying the holiday pounds will be showing up soon. I can control myself around candy and cookies, but show me some turkey and gravy and all the yummy foods on hand for Thanksgiving and Christmas and all bets are off. Last year I made this weird stuffing/mashed potato pancake thing with cranberry sauce on top with the leftovers and it was amazing! Also this restaurant near us makes a stuffing waffle with turkey and gravy and I think mashed potatoes on top. It may sound gross but it was amazing. My mouth is watering just thinking about the foods. For now I will content myself with a peppermint mocha and some holiday movies. Hey don't judge me!

Modern Witch

      There are quite a few shows that I could have used to inspire my modern witch, but since I am a fan of American Horror Story I went with the witches of the Coven and the current season for inspiration. Almost all the ladies have a standard "uniform" of a full black outfit. This was easy to achieve since I am not lacking in a black wardrobe.


      No witch worth her power would leave the house without her cell phone and a latte. Maybe that is just a me thing, since I can never leave the house without some caffeine and my phone.


      I think one of the things these Coven witches try to avoid in direct sunlight, at least that is what the hats and parasols seem to say to me. I don't blame them, if these witches are anything like me they burn in the sun. Hmmm, maybe I am a witch, it sure beats what my kids call me " The Irish Vampire".

A boho Phire

      Every once in a while some part of me decides to take over my style for a day or so. I wish I knew what triggered these little whims, but it also explains why I have no discernible style most of the time. This day my inner boho came out to play.



      I will call this the "I can't today" pose, which is how I am feeling today. In my defense it is National Lazy Day so really the fact that I am even blogging today should be applauded. I am awash in flame in this picture because everyone knows it gets cold in the desert at night and you need a fire to keep warm, and this Phire is being warmed by that one.


      Here we see a Phire being mesmerized by the flames. This is actually pretty accurate, I do get lost in the flames of a bonfire. I have always felt a strange pull towards fire and flames, but not in the I am going to be an arsonist kind of way. I am going to flee before I end up freaking people out with my fire love.

That girl is poison

      I have been listening to an insane amount of music from the 90's lately. Don't judge it helps me get work done. So when Sakura returned to pose making and named her booty poses after me I knew exactly what to do. I decided to mesh together two different poison references in the post. If you can't figure them out I will help you, I am nice like that some days. You see my outfit and hair are a subtle homage to Poison Ivy, the comic book character, not the Uma Thurman movie version. The other bit is if you look closely, but not pervy close, you will see I have a big butt and a smile. While I would like to pretend all you readers are old enough to know the song Poison by Bel Biv DeVoe, you may not. One of the lines from that song is "You never trust a big butt and a smile.", it always made me giggle a little. Hard at Work

I have been a little quieter than I like lately. That is because I have been working in my non-digital life and haven't quite found the work/fun balance yet. Also sorting through data all day makes a person not want to look at the computer again, at least for me. I decided that I would make my SLife look like my non-digital life for these pictures. I mean there are a few differences. In this picture there are no cats trying to get cuddles while I work.


Luckily I work from home which is why there are cats and the occasional NSFW outfits. I do have to be covered up somewhat since my desk faces the front door. No one needs to come to the door and be greeted by a barely covered me. I may scar the pizza guy for life!

My Dancer Dreams

I know Thanksgiving here in the US was almost a month ago, but hey this is a bust time of year! Anyway every year I watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, it's a tradition around here. As always I watch The Radio City Rockettes do their thing, and my feeling are mixed. It's a mixture of awe and jealousy. You see I am about as coordinated as a newborn calf. Saying I have two left feet would be putting it nicely. I always have delusions of grace when I watch them on television. Here is what I see in my head....



As you can see in my dreams I am elegant, graceful and ever so festive. I guess one out of three isn't bad...right?



When reality sets back in it can be a little saddening. Luckily I get to make my house look all pretty and festive to recover from the harsh reality.

The Many Loves of Black Widow

                   Every year about this time the Black Widow make her way to the graveyard. It's her own private graveyard where she visits old friends. And by friend I mean her old lovers. You see she is a Black Widow, not just because all her husbands die oh no, that would be too simple. You see she is a demon, the kind who gets foolish mortals to marry her, and then they die. They die without anyone ever being the wiser. It's like they just vanish from all memory. All memory except for hers. So every year she comes to see her forgotten loves.


                   Some she mourns more than others. He may not have been her first, but he will always be her favorite. If she could turn back time, maybe change her ways he could come back to her. Alas it seems to be only a dream for her for she is who she is. Next year she will be back and there will be more forgotten for her to visit.

Two for the Road

Getting stranded in the middle of now where is not my idea of a fun road trip. Sure we may be at a truck stop, but it's still a lonely road that isn't traveled much. Hopefully someone will come along and offer us a ride or else this may become our new home. At least we won't get overheated in the hot hot sun, we aren't exactly bundled up here. We were on our way out to LA to see if we could land a role in a movie or something. Hey we'd even be happy just being extras. Screen time is screen time after all, and beggars can't be choosers! My Audience

This was the only audience I could get to attend my very first violin concert. They were are very adorable audience and I was totally getting into the music.

Elenora Escapes

Elenora became the last virgin, and by that I mean she was the last uninfected soul, untouched by the plague that ravaged her home in San Mora. This made Elenora a very wanted young lady and put a hefty price upon her head.She knew she had to flee her home. She peered around corners trying to be stealthy in her escape. Finally she was able to make a break for it on a day when the weather turned dismal, keeping the bounty hunters at bay, at least for now.



All through the following days she traveled through many different realms. The first she passed through was a bustling marketplace, where she could head the sounds of merchants selling their wares and elephants off in the distance. The next realm she wandered into was a pale watery land with colorful sea life who would lead up out of the water in their own aquatic dance. Still Elenora traveled on, into a lily pad strewn land full of frog. She made quite a few new amphibian friend here, but she still did not feel like she was far enough away from her pursuers. The next realm she landed in had a giant temple, where a goddess seemed to reach out for her with open arms. Elenora rested in the safety of the goddesses warm arms a bit before moving on yet again. The land that fell just beyond the temple was a proper old city, at least compared to where she had come from. She lingered her for a few days enjoying the canals and the string music. That was until a change in the the winds signaled that is was time for her to keep moving. Just when she thought she would have to sleep the night hidden in the bushes Elenora came upon beautiful village. This village was perfumed by the sweet floral scents of the flowers that grew there in abundance. This place was like a dream to her, one she wished she never had to awake from. However awake she did and onward she traveled, until finally she found it, the land she would call home. All the houses here were built into the hills, and as she walked Elenora looked into the window of one home and found it empty.



Elenora huddled into the far corner of the house for the night, promising herself she would properly take ownership of the home in the morning. It had been a very long time since Elenora had felt this at peace and after a while she felt right at home. Sadly she could never quite escape the feeling she was being watched...

The outfit comes with just the sweater or the sweater and skirt. I wasn't in the mood for a skirt. Luckily Bunny is always willing to be the girlier of the two of us, so she wore the skirted version. In the shadows

It is cold and lonely in the shadows. There however is no paradise by the dashboard lights in this deep dark night. Yup I totally made a Meatloaf reference in this post. Does it show my age? The Burdy Sisters - Raven

Finally we come to Raven, the last of the Burdy triplets, and maybe the most...interesting? You see Raven had obsession with death and dead things. She would even sneak out at night to meet with her unkindness, her flock of ravens.

No one was ever certain whether she had trained the raven to come to her or if they just naturally saw her as their queen of some sort. It did disturb the other people living on the island whenever they would see the ravens circling here. They also feared the ravens themselves for it seemed that anyone who witnessed Raven in the evenings would be found dead within a week. No one believed this to be a mere coincidence.


Due to the deaths that surrounded seeing Raven at night many of the island dwellers made sure to be locked up tight in their homes before the dark of night descended. No one wanted to risk being the next one to be at the wrong end of the Raven Curse.

Planning an Invasion

I have a geeky admission to make. I have been playing a table top RPG for the last couple months. It's actually pretty fun and I was surprised by my enjoyment of it. What does that have to do with this post you may be asking yourself. Well you see there are some bad AI's in it and I figured this is what one may look like if it were placed into a humanoid body. Yes it is just that nerdy.
You have to admit there could be worse looking overlords bent on destroying the human population. Now back to plans on destroying mankind!

Fly My Pretties!

Before there were flying monkeys the Wicked Witch tried other animals. When she was young she tried and army of flying kitties. She hoped the kitties would kill her enemy's with cute, but it failed...miserably. I mean sure they were distracted by the cuteness and had a great time playing with the kitties, but no one died. In fact all the kitties never returned to her. They ended up being spoiled by the people she sent them after and they never wanted to leave. There were a few other animals in between the kitties and her eventual minions the flying monkeys.

New Year with the family

How does one ring in the new year with a little kid. Well if it anything like here it means the adults are ready for bed by 10 pm. while the little person is bouncing off the walls. My sister and I were happy to power through to the ball drop and as the lower so did the Livy's energy levels. We all finally crashed for the night getting the first sleep of the New Year. The next morning, as much as I was in need to coffee, I made some "fancy" hot chocolate for Livy. Not to worry there was also a pot of coffee brewing in the kitchen.

While we were all together I thought I would set up my camera to take a photo of the three of us together. It doesn't happen often that we are all together for more than a little while so I wanted to save the moment.

Hopefully there will be more family time in the new year. Maybe that will be my resolution this year...
