A day in the life of the Dairy Queen

The Dairy Queen leads as busy life as sadly there is no Dairy King in her kingdom so all the work falls upon her capable shoulders. She starts each day, weather allowing of course, with a stroll through her garden.
Dairy Queen wanders the gardens

Next up in her busy day is walking through the halls of the palace making sure everything is polished and looking like a million bucks. She also plays coy with the her favorite knight. Hey even a Queen has needs.
Dairy Queen plays coy

Throughout the day she meets with her loyal subjects, which she treats with kindness, doing all she can to make their lives better.
Dairy Queen meets with subjects

Sometimes she sits upon her throne as she meets with visiting dignitaries, basking in the light from the windows above.

She ends her days staring out over the sea letting the waves wash away her woes before she retires to her chamber for the night.
End of a long day

Princess Eileen

Every year around St. Patrick's Day I grab my copy of Irish fairy tales and start reading them. See growing up St. Patrick's Day was a big deal, I swear if my Dad could he would have taken it off like one gets Memorial Day off. Anyway back to the fairy tale. I decided to style my look based on the picture in my head of Princess Eileen from the fairy tale The White Cat. See Princess Eileen was taken away from her father by a giant and kept locked away till the day she was forced to marry the Giant.
Princess Eileen

But then a little white cat visits her, followed by a prince and she must wait for the prince to return to save her.
Princess Eileen
Finally after some troubles of his own the prince returns, kills the giant and his hounds and they live happily ever after. Okay so that was the heavily edited version of the story, but hey there is only some much you want to read.

Spreading the love for Ivalde

I warn you now there are 4 pictures so if you hate posts with more pictures then words...to freaking bad it's my blog! These are just a few of the pretties I could share.
Anyway this dress here is very first dress I ever bought way back in the Embla,Ask & Ivalde days. Nope not gonna tell you how long I have had this dress.
This is the Eileen dress. Anyone who really knows me knows why I had to have this dress. One of the things I love about this one is the options. I love to have choices and boy does Nef deliver!
I bought this dress for my very first prom I attended in SL. It was 80's themed. I have worn this to every prom event since. Nef named it the Audrey dress, however I just call it my prom dress
Oh this is my 60/70's dress from the selection of dresses from different decades. It totally reminds me of the picture I have seen of my mom from the late 60's and early 70's. Again there are layers giving you options. Oh and before I go Nef is like a goddess when it comes to using system skirts. They always look amazing! I am so glad she will still have a location on the Retrology sim. Here's to a speedy return to SL!

I got Phired!

*hangs head in shame* Took me too long to come up with a corny title, I'm loosing my touch. I feel I must warn you that I'm a bit hormonal today so ignore me if I see a bit odd.

Moving on....My blogging partner in crime wanted to see me dressed in something tailored with chunky jewelry and hair that looks like I spent no time at all on but probably cost me a fortune to have done for the Dress Me up challenge.

Anyone who knows me, knows I would rather run through Armidi nekkid as the day I was born than run the grid in a tailored outfit, but here I am.

I actually have been eying this Mirands skirt set from Ivalde for a while now but it never seemed by style (see previous sentence) so I just admired it from afar. As soon as Phire issued the challenge I knew I was getting this dress. Be warned if you don't like system skirts, this lovely outfit has one. It's very well done however so other than the removal of my round booty (looked like I had stuffed a giant pillow under my dress O_o) I would wear it more often, you know if I wore tailored stuff. The outfit comes with cuffs and a nice sculpted collar but I couldn't wear the collar because it was on the same attach point as the necklace and I was too lazy to change attach points. I fail =__=

As for the hair, this is one I already owned from Armidi. I love the casual bun in the back with little bits of hair sticking out and the lovely bits hanging down in the front. Yes, I am aware I'm blond (blonde?). It happens.

The skin is one of my favorites from Redgrave's Jennifer Line in Pale. The glossy lips and the smoky eyes are fantastic.

If you haven't been over to Poetic Eyes yet, why not? There is a Christmas freebie out and while you are there go pick up some eyes. I am wearing the shallow water eyes. These are so realistic it's kinda scary.

If anyone has any more suggestions for the challenge feel free to let me know. I have a nice little list going already and I really enjoy doing this.

Now if you will excuse me I need to get out of this dress and go run nekkid through Armidi, who's coming with me?

Wise old owl

I have been sitting on these pictures for a while now just waiting for the right time to blog this particular item. Was I waiting for the weather to be right, maybe it needed to wait till when it seemed socially necessary? Well whatever the reason it is here now and ready to be done.

A wise old owl sat in an oak,
The more he heard, the less he spoke;
The less he spoke, the more he heard;
Why aren't we all like that wise old bird?

The browns in this coat from Ivalde make me think of a few things, one being that nursery rhyme. See what I mean about the social timing? No, well that is okay maybe it only seemed poignant to me. The brown and trim colors bringing to mind the beautiful colors of a barn owl, here is a picture of a barn owl so you don’t think I am completely off my nut.

The other thing that this coat reminds me of is the illustrations in the storybooks by Jan Brett.

The trim on the coats collar and cuffs have the well worn matted look to them. You know the kind that happens when you love something so much you wear it constantly? With the weather taking a serious cold turn here in the Northeast I wouldn’t mind being bundled up in a coat like this.

Here are your warm and cozy credits
